A OCF fault (fault code 9 on the touchscreen) stands for Overcurrent. This is very similar to CLI and OLF fault codes. The VFD has detected that the current (amps) on the output of the VFD has exceeded what was expected. There are several possible reasons why this may happen and you will have to use your best judgment based on the situation.
1. The blade size is not programmed correctly. Verify that the blade size setting correctly matches the actual diameter of the fan.
2. A motor tune was not performed. Ensure that the motor tune is done while the motor is cold (has not operated for at least an hour).
3. The motor is miswired. This is most commonly seen on AVDX since the motor uses different wiring configurations for 208V versus 480V applications, but any motor can be miswired.
4. The incorrect blades are installed on the fan. Motors are only designed to handle a certain blade size. Ensure that you are only using the blades that the fan was ordered with. Contact MacroAir Technical Support if you need to verify that the motor is correct for the blade diameter.
5. The motor cable is incorrect. It could be damaged, exceed the maximum allowable length, or it is a cable sourced from a 3rd party that does not meet the necessary specifications. The MacroAir factory-provided cable must be used with no additional cable spliced.
6. The VFD parameters are not set correctly. Contact MacroAir Technical Support so that they can assist in verifying the VFD programming.
