A TJF fault (fault 54 on the touchscreen) is a IGBT overheat fault. There are many possible causes for this and you will need to use your best judgment to narrow things down. Below are some potential issues that could cause this fault.
1. The drive may be overheating. Refer to troubleshooting for OHF for possible causes, particularly the sticker on top of the VFD.
2. The VFD parameters are not set correctly. Contact MacroAir Technical Support so that they can assist in verifying the VFD programming.
3. The motor cable is not wired to the VFD motor terminals. Ensure that the motor cable is landed on the correct terminals. Ensure that the cable is stripped properly so that the terminal is not biting on any insulation. Ensure that there are no frayed ends of wires touching other wires.
4. A wire is loose or missing on the output side of the VFD. Confirm that the wires are snug in the VFD motor output terminals and that they are properly tied together inside the motor. Ensure that there are no frayed ends of wires touching other wires.
5. The motor cable is incorrect. It could be damaged, exceed the maximum allowable length, or it is a cable sourced from a 3rd party that does not meet the necessary specifications. The MacroAir factory-provided cable must be used with no additional cable spliced.
6. The motor is miswired. This is most commonly seen on AVDX since the motor uses different wiring configurations for 208V versus 480V applications, but any motor can be miswired. Ensure that the cable is stripped properly so that the terminal is not biting on any insulation.
7. The system is not properly grounded. Verify that all wiring is correctly grounded on the input and output side of the VFD.
