In the course of troubleshooting a Controller 30, MacroAir Technical Support may determine that it is necessary to perform a software update on the device. This process is to only be performed with the knowledge and consent of MacroAir Technical Support and the file provided by our team. Attempting this procedure without first speaking to MacroAir Technical Support will void the warranty of the equipment. Ensure that the thumbdrive is completely blank before starting the below procedure.
1. Download the zip file link provided by Tech Support.
2. Locate the file on your computer once it is done. This is most easily done by clicking the "Show in Folder" button in the Downloads section of your internet browser.
3. Right click on the zip file and select "Extract all".
4. Extract the files from the zip file directly onto the empty thumbdrive. Make sure that the files are extracted directly to a thumbdrive and are not inside a folder on the thumbdrive. Below is an image showing how the files should look on a thumbdrive when properly extracted. Note the filepath is simply "USB Drive (D:)", indicating that this is what the main thumbdrive should look like. If the thumbdrive does not look like this, the files were not extracted properly. Delete everything on the thumbdrive and try to extract the files again.
5. Unplug the power cable from the Controller 30.
6. Plug the thumbdrive into the Controller 30 USB port on the bottom of the screen.
7. Plug the power cable back into the controller. The controller will automatically light up once power is applied.
8. The screen will ask if you want to copy the project. Press YES.
9. The screen will ask if you want to back up the files. Press NO.
The update will take several minutes and will automatically go to the main Controller 30 screen when it is complete. If you encounter any errors during this process, such as "Project Failure", please contact MacroAir Technical Support for further troubleshooting steps.
